Husband Sentenced to Death in Saniya Zahra Murder Case
Multan: In a significant verdict, the Additional District and Sessions Court in Multan has sentenced Ali Raza, the husband of Saniya Zahra, to death in connection with her murder.
Ali Raza, along with six other accused, including his mother-in-law Azra Parveen and brother-in-law Ali Haider, was named in the case. The court, while delivering the verdict, awarded life imprisonment to Azra Parveen and Ali Haider along with a fine of PKR 500,000. Three other accused were acquitted.
Speaking to the media after the verdict, Saniya Zahra’s father, Asad Abbas Shah, said, “I fought alone for my daughter, and today justice has prevailed. No one will be able to kill any daughter in the future with impunity.”
It is noteworthy that Saniya Zahra was killed by her husband last year, sparking widespread outrage and calls for justice.
