PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Condemns Troll Campaign Against Bushra Bibi, Labels Allegations Baseless

Rawalpindi: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar expressed deep concern over the trolling and negative campaign targeting **Bushra Bibi**, calling it “regrettable” and emphasizing that the allegations, including those reported in *The Economist*, are completely unfounded.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar stated that both **Bushra Bibi** and PTI founder are currently in jail, making the timing of such reports particularly unfortunate. He condemned the article and clarified that any legal action against Bushra Bibi will be taken only after consultations, noting that she is a private woman and not active in politics. He also criticized remarks made by Faisal Vawda about her as “highly inappropriate.”

Barrister Gohar further alleged that the government is using the controversy over the 28th constitutional amendment to divert attention from the 27th amendment, claiming it is acting above the law and has lost credibility in the eyes of the public. He stressed the importance of judicial independence and stated that no judge is political, while resignations remain personal decisions.

He also highlighted PTI’s opposition to the 26th and 27th amendments and clarified that while constitutional courts exist in other countries solely to interpret the constitution, the government has given it authority over political and constitutional matters in Pakistan. Barrister Gohar concluded by stating that while reforms in the judiciary are always possible, PTI does not support the 26th or 27th amendments.
