Reconstitution of Supreme Judicial Council, Judicial Commission, and Practice & Procedure Committee Following 27th Constitutional Amendment

Islamabad: Following the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the Supreme Judicial Council, Judicial Commission, and Practice & Procedure Committee have been reconstituted.

According to an official statement issued by the Supreme Court, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel has been appointed as a member of the Supreme Court Judicial Council in consultation with both Chief Justices.

Justice Aamir Farooq has been named a member of the Judicial Commission, while Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel has also been appointed to the Practice & Procedure Committee. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will serve as the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, with Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan as the second senior member. Other members of the Judicial Council include Justices Muneeb Akhtar, Hassan Rizvi, and Jamal Mandokhel.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will also lead the Judicial Commission, with Chief Justice Amin Khan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar as members. Justices Hassan Rizvi and Aamir Farooq have also been appointed to the commission.

In addition, the commission will include Law Minister Azam Tarar, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, two government and two opposition parliamentarians, a Pakistan Bar Council-nominated lawyer, and a female member nominated by the National Assembly Speaker.
