QUETTA – A delegation of the All Parties Conference (APC), comprising leaders from various political and religious parties, met Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail at the Governor House Quetta and expressed strong reservations over the hurriedly announced local government elections in the provincial capital.
The JUI (F) was represented in the meeting by District General Secretary Haji Ainullah Shams and Senior Vice Ameer Maulana Khurshid Ahmed. The delegation briefed the Governor on the legal, administrative and technical complications the public is facing due to the abrupt scheduling of the local body polls.
They demanded that the elections be conducted transparently, fairly, and strictly in accordance with constitutional and legal requirements.
The APC representatives also highlighted several pressing issues, including severe gas and electricity load-shedding, prolonged internet service disruptions, deteriorating law and order, and other urgent public hardships.
Governor Mandokhail listened to the concerns in detail and assured the delegation that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure a lawful electoral process and to address the public’s grievances to the fullest extent possible.
