Balochistan: Provincial Selection Board-I Meeting Postponed Indefinitely Again, Hundreds of Officers Disheartened

Quetta: The crucial meeting of the Provincial Selection Board-I (PSB-I), responsible for promotions of senior government officers in Balochistan, has once again been postponed indefinitely, causing widespread disappointment and frustration among hundreds of officers across various departments.
According to sources, the meeting—led by Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan—was scheduled to be held on November 12, 2025, after a long delay. The board was expected to review promotion cases of Grade 18 and above officers from multiple departments. However, officials have postponed the meeting without giving any reason, stating only that a new date will be announced later.
Government officers awaiting promotion have expressed deep concern, saying that promotion is their fundamental right, and repeated delays have created uncertainty and mistrust within the administrative structure. They urged provincial authorities to convene the PSB-I meeting at the earliest to restore confidence and ensure the smooth functioning of the government machinery.
