Supreme Court Justice Musarrat Hilali Declines Appointment to Federal Shariat Court

Islamabad: Supreme Court Justice Musarrat Hilali has declined the offer to serve as a judge of the Federal Shariat Court (FSC) due to health reasons.

Sources confirmed that Justice Hilali’s name was under consideration for the FSC, but she opted not to join the court citing medical concerns. Her bench had previously been delisted due to health issues.

This development comes shortly after Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan took oath as the first Chief Justice of the newly constituted Federal Shariat Court. President **Arif Ali Zardari** administered the oath to Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan in a ceremony at the **Aiwan-e-Sadr**, attended by **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif**, federal ministers, parliamentarians, PPP Chairman **Bilawal Bhutto Zardari**, and senior military officials.
