Balochistan Inaugurates Provincial Intelligence Fusion & Threat Assessment Center (PIFTAC) to Boost Security Coordination

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister **Mir Sarfraz Bugti** and **Corps Commander Balochistan, Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan**, officially inaugurated the **Provincial Intelligence Fusion & Threat Assessment Center (PIFTAC)** on Thursday at the provincial Home Department.

The modern center has been established to enhance coordination between **federal law enforcement agencies, provincial departments, and district administrations**, enabling timely and effective responses to security threats.

Under PIFTAC, agencies including the **police, levies force, counter-terrorism department, frontier corps, FIA, intelligence agencies, customs, and others** will share information on a **real-time basis**, allowing for early identification of threats. The center is **digitally linked to the National Intelligence Fusion & Threat Assessment Center (NIFTAC) in Islamabad**, enabling **two-way information exchange** from districts to the federal level and vice versa. This system will provide **early alerts regarding terrorism, organized crime, sectarian threats, and risks to critical infrastructure**.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that PIFTAC will **significantly enhance the province’s capacity to identify and neutralize threats** to peace and stability. He praised the **joint efforts of civil and military institutions**, describing the center as a **major milestone for national security and provincial coordination**.

Additional Chief Secretary Interior **Hamza Shafqat** briefed attendees, stating that PIFTAC will maintain a **comprehensive digital picture of the security situation across the province** and provide **structured threat assessments** to provincial and district leadership, enabling timely and effective action.

Chief Minister Bugti added that the center will **strengthen public safety, support development, and foster trust and collaboration between civil and military institutions** in Balochistan.
