Shahid Afridi Criticizes Social Media Lies; Faces Exchange with YouTuber Imran Riaz

Karachi: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Khan Afridi has strongly criticized the spread of lies and negative propaganda on social media. Afridi stated that some people are “registered liars” who sit abroad and create unrest in the country.
In an interview, when asked about campaigns against him and other real heroes on social media, Afridi said he has no interest in gaining likes by spreading falsehoods, nor is it a source of income. “I will not feed my children with ill-gotten money,” he added.

Afridi also made a sarcastic remark about certain individuals, saying, “Some people used to say I would never leave Pakistan, but I myself saw a donkey riding on another donkey and coming here.” He emphasized that those spreading lies from abroad should, if truly brave and patriotic, come to Pakistan and bring about real change rather than creating unrest through false information.
The video went viral on social media, and many users interpreted Afridi’s comments as a criticism of YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan. Responding to the video, Imran Riaz said, “I was wondering why the tout hasn’t been launched yet? I have never ridden on it. Which videos was he watching?” He added, “I would never leave Pakistan if the owners hadn’t ordered my murder. Rest assured, I will return. My Lord is with the truth, and hypocrites will surely be exposed.”
