Punjab Functioning as a Team, Gaining Public Support: CM Maryam Nawaz Speaks to Media in London

**Lahore (Qudrat Daily)** — Punjab Chief Minister *Maryam Nawaz* said that her government is working as a cohesive team and receiving growing public appreciation for its efforts. She made the remarks while speaking to the media in *London*, where she made a brief stopover en route to *Brazil* to attend the *COP30 climate conference* in Belém.

The Chief Minister said it was the *first time Punjab would participate in COP30 not merely as an observer but as an official participant*. “Clean Punjab is one of the world’s most organized waste management programs,” she noted, adding that *electric mobility* had already begun in the province with the introduction of *electric buses and bikes*.

Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab’s transport sector was being *gradually shifted to green energy*, and significant progress had been made in *tourism, wildlife conservation,* and *environmental improvement*. “Our efforts to curb smog are being recognized globally,” she said, adding that Punjab would present its *environmental and green initiatives* at the COP30 summit in Brazil.

Responding to a question, she credited former Prime Minister *Shehbaz Sharif* as her mentor, saying, “He trained me, and I am following in his footsteps.”

Expressing gratitude for the public’s affection, she added, “The love and support I’ve received from the people of Punjab is beyond imagination. I thank God that I’ve faced no difficulty in leading the province. We’re working as a team — and that teamwork is earning us the people’s trust and appreciation.”
