Miss Universe 2025 Contestants Walk Out After Alleged Mistreatment of Miss Mexico

Thailand: The Miss Universe 2025 event in Thailand faced controversy after several contestants walked out in protest over the alleged mistreatment of Miss Mexico, Fatima Bouch.
According to reports, the pageant’s Executive Director, Navat Atsargrisel, asked Bouch why she had not participated in a promotional photoshoot and reportedly called her “dumb” in English during the event. The incident reportedly created a tense atmosphere.
A video of the exchange quickly went viral on social media, prompting several other contestants to leave the stage in protest. Victoria Thielwig, another contestant, stated that the treatment of Miss Mexico violated the standards expected in any global competition.
Fatima Bouch also released a statement on social media, saying she will not “remain silent like cattle” and will continue to speak out for the dignity and respect of women. “No one can silence our voice,” she emphasized.
Social media users expressed widespread support for Miss Mexico and condemned the behavior of the Thai executive director, with many calling for his removal from the position.
In response, the Miss Universe Organization released a statement affirming its commitment to treating all participants with respect and dignity. The organization added that an investigation is underway and measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
