Babar Azam Surpasses Virat Kohli’s T20 Half-Century Record

Lahore: Pakistan’s former captain **Babar Azam** has overtaken two major Indian batting records within just two days.
During the third T20 match against South Africa, Babar played a brilliant innings of **68 runs**, reaching his half-century in **36 balls**. This marked his **40th T20 fifty**, allowing him to surpass India’s superstar **Virat Kohli**, who has **39 T20 fifties** in **117 innings**.
Earlier, Babar also surpassed **Rohit Sharma** in total T20 international runs. While Rohit has scored **4,231 runs in 151 innings**, Babar has now reached **4,232 runs in only 123 innings**, securing his place above the Indian opener.
Babar’s back-to-back milestones highlight his remarkable consistency and strengthen his standing among the top-ranked batters in modern T20 cricket.
