NADRA Launches Online Marriage Registration — A Step Toward Digital Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced another public convenience by launching an online marriage registration system, marking a significant step toward a digitally connected Pakistan.

According to NADRA, citizens in selected Union Councils (UCs) can now register their marriages online from the comfort of their homes. The initiative has been launched on a limited scale, aiming to make public services more accessible and efficient.

In its official statement, NADRA announced that marriage registration can now be carried out through the *Pak ID* mobile application, allowing citizens to register their marriage with the relevant Union Council. Once approved, the marriage registration certificate can be downloaded directly into the app’s digital ID wallet.

Initially, the service is being offered in three districts of Punjab — Chakwal, Jhelum, and Nankana Sahib. Residents of Chakwal’s 71 UCs, Jhelum’s 44 UCs, and Nankana Sahib’s 65 UCs can now access the facility from their homes. NADRA added that the service will be expanded across Pakistan in phases.
