Human Rights Lawyer Hadi Ali Chattha, Husband of Imaan Mazari, Arrested in Controversial Tweet Case

Islamabad: Advocate **Hadi Ali Chattha**, husband of human rights lawyer **Imaan Mazari**, has been arrested in connection with a **controversial tweet case**.

During the hearing at a **local Islamabad court**, the judge issued **arrest warrants** for Hadi Ali Chattha after both he and Imaan Mazari failed to appear in previous proceedings. The court ordered that Chattha be **arrested and presented tomorrow**, adjourning the case until the next hearing.

According to sources, moments after the hearing concluded, officials from the **National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA)** handcuffed and detained Chattha as he exited the courtroom.

It is worth noting that on **September 30**, the same court had **indicted both Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha** under charges related to their social media activity, though neither was present at that time.

The **NCCIA** has filed a case against the couple under sections **9, 10, 11, and 26** of the **Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA)**. The FIR alleges that Mazari and Chattha used **social media posts to incite linguistic divisions and hatred**, and that they **attributed responsibility for missing persons cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to security forces**.

Both Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha are prominent **lawyers and social activists**, known for their outspoken criticism of state institutions and advocacy for human rights in Pakistan.
