91 Palestinians Killed in Latest Israeli Strikes; Trump Says Ceasefire Not at Risk

Gaza: Israeli forces carried out overnight airstrikes targeting a residential neighborhood in Gaza City, killing at least 91 Palestinians, including 24 children, and leaving many trapped under the rubble.

According to *Al Jazeera*, medical sources confirmed that Israel violated the U.S.-brokered ceasefire by conducting the deadly air raids throughout the night.

U.S. President Donald Trump commented that Israel had launched a “retaliatory strike” following the killing of an Israeli soldier but insisted that “nothing will threaten the ceasefire,” adding that “Hamas must behave responsibly.”

The strikes came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered “powerful” attacks in southern Gaza’s Rafah area following an exchange of fire that killed an Israeli soldier.

Since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023, at least **68,527 Palestinians have been killed** and **170,395 injured**, according to health officials. On October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel left **1,139 people dead** and around **200 taken hostage**.

**Settlers Torch Palestinian Vehicles**
*Al Jazeera Arabic* reported that early Wednesday morning, groups of Israeli settlers set fire to Palestinian-owned vehicles in the village of Atara, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Since October 2023, Palestinians in the West Bank have faced a sharp rise in violence and harassment from Israeli settlers and forces, resulting in at least **1,059 deaths**, nearly **10,000 injuries**, and over **20,000 arrests**, including **1,600 children**.

**Analyst: Israel Intentionally Undermining Ceasefire**
According to Mouin Rabbani, a non-resident fellow at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, Israel is “deliberately undermining” the ceasefire it reluctantly accepted under U.S. pressure.
Rabbani told *Al Jazeera* that Israel has failed to honor any of its commitments under the agreement, neither withdrawing forces from designated zones nor allowing agreed-upon levels of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

He said Israel is now using “logistical delays” — such as restricting the entry of heavy machinery to recover bodies from rubble — as excuses to weaken the ceasefire. “What we’re witnessing is a gradual unraveling of the agreement,” Rabbani said, adding that the key question now is how the United States will respond.

**Three Generations Wiped Out in Single Strike**
Residents described one of Gaza’s darkest nights in recent memory. Fighter jets, drones, and surveillance aircraft filled the skies as explosions echoed across the city. Hospitals were overwhelmed, with bodies lying on stretchers in corridors and blood-soaked survivors crying for help.

In one devastating strike in central Gaza, **18 members of a single family—spanning three generations—were killed**, including children, their parents, and grandparents.

The brief hope that the ceasefire would bring calm has now turned into despair. With each passing hour, fear grows that the violence could escalate once again, casting doubt on whether the fragile truce can survive.
