Good News for Youth: Punjab Government Announces Paid Internship Program with Monthly Stipend up to Rs65,000

Lahore: The Punjab government has announced a new **internship program** for young graduates and intermediate students, offering a **monthly stipend between Rs55,000 and Rs65,000**. The initiative aims to provide youth across the province with **hands-on teaching experience** and enhance their professional skills.

According to official documents, the provincial government has approved a **stipend package worth over Rs4.21 billion** for the program. Under this initiative, more than **8,000 intern teachers** will be placed in various colleges across Punjab, where they will receive financial support during their internship period.

The program includes two stipend categories: **Intermediate-level interns** will receive **Rs55,000 per month for seven months**, while **BS-level interns** will get **Rs65,000 per month for ten months**. Upon completion, all participants will be awarded **experience certificates**, helping them improve their employability and professional profiles.

To ensure inclusivity and equal opportunity, **specific quotas** have been reserved — **404 seats for minorities**, **243 for persons with disabilities**, and **40 for transgender individuals**.

A total budget of **Rs4.217 billion** has been allocated for the program, covering stipends and administrative costs. The Punjab government stated that the initiative is designed not only to **reduce financial burdens on students** but also to **encourage active participation in educational activities**. It is expected to play a vital role in **preparing youth for long-term academic and professional careers**.
