FIA Foils Human Smuggling Attempt at Sialkot Airport, Six Passengers Arrested

SIALKOT:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has foiled an attempt to illegally travel to Europe and arrested six passengers at Sialkot Airport.

According to the FIA Gujranwala, the arrested individuals belonged to Gujranwala and Sialkot. They were carrying passports with work permit visas for Qatar but were actually planning to travel from Qatar to Libya and then to Italy via sea.

Authorities revealed that this route through Qatar represents a **new method of human smuggling** being used to reach Europe illegally. Each passenger reportedly paid an agent **Rs 3.2 million** for the arrangement.

Meanwhile, the **FIA Multan** conducted separate operations across southern Punjab, arresting **seven suspects** involved in **human trafficking and visa fraud**. The accused allegedly deceived innocent citizens by promising overseas jobs, taking large sums of money, and failing to send them abroad or return their funds.

The FIA has registered cases against all suspects, and **further investigation** is underway.
