Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Sohaib Afridi Rejects Any Military Operation Without Public Consent

KHYBER(Daily Qudrat News):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister **Sohaib Afridi** delivered a fiery speech at a **peace jirga in Khyber district**, openly criticizing the **federal government and powerful quarters**, declaring that he would **not accept any military operation, airstrikes, or closed-door decisions** regarding the province.
Afridi asserted that **“no decision will be accepted unless made with the will of the people,”** warning that he would **oppose any operation imposed without public approval.**
Appearing visibly emotional and impassioned, the chief minister began his speech with revolutionary poetry, recalling the **immense sacrifices of the tribal people** for Pakistan. He lamented that despite enduring **drone attacks, displacements, and bombings**, they have not received due recognition. *“Are the tribal people meant only to be sacrificial victims?”* he asked.
Declaring his stance, Afridi said:
> “I will not allow aerial bombings. Military operations are unacceptable! Decisions behind closed doors are unacceptable! The people will decide!”
During the jirga, participants raised several demands — the most prominent being **the release of PTI founder Imran Khan**. They also chanted slogans of **“Haqq do, khairat nahi”** (“Give us our rights, not charity”). Afridi endorsed these demands, stressing that **peace can only come through justice and rights**, beginning with **Imran Khan’s release**.
He further criticized the federal government for **denying Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its rightful share in the NFC Award and other financial dues**, warning that he would **not tolerate further injustices**.
Afridi concluded with a strong message: *“I will not let innocent citizens be sacrificed in the name of collateral damage.”*
His bold remarks were met with **loud applause and passionate support** from the jirga participants, who hailed his uncompromising stance.
