Five Afghan Refugee Camps Emptied in Mardan and Swabi

PESHAWAR: Authorities have evacuated five Afghan refugee camps in Mardan and Swabi amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to *Express News*, three camps in Mardan — Jalala Camp, Kagan Camp, and Baghecha Camp — and two in Swabi have been cleared. A total of **8,990 families comprising 52,125 individuals** have been repatriated to Afghanistan.
The Commissioner of Mardan has submitted a detailed report to the Chief Secretary regarding the evacuation. The Afghan Commissionerate has handed over the administrative control of the vacated camps to the Mardan Commissioner’s office.
