TLP Protest Erupts in Karachi; Two Children Injured, Five Arrested

KARACHI: After Punjab, the **Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)** staged protests in various parts of Karachi, resulting in violent clashes that left two children injured. Police have arrested five people involved in rioting and vandalism, while traffic disruptions caused severe inconvenience to commuters.
In **New Karachi’s Nala Stop area**, TLP workers gathered to protest, where some enraged participants pelted stones and smashed vehicle windows. Similar unrest was reported at **North Karachi’s 4K Chowrangi**, where demonstrators blocked the roads, creating long traffic jams.
According to **DIG West Irfan Ali Baloch**, police used tear gas to disperse the rioters involved in stone-pelting and arson. He said law enforcement later brought the situation under control around **Sindh Hotel and 4K Chowrangi**, restoring normal traffic flow.
DIG Baloch confirmed that five individuals had been arrested for their role in the violence, and additional police contingents were deployed across the affected areas to maintain order.
Meanwhile, in **Punjab’s Muridke**, security forces cleared **GT Road** after an operation by police and Rangers. However, violent clashes led to the martyrdom of an SHO and injuries to **48 personnel** following gunfire from the protesters.
