United National Pashtun Province Is the Right of Pashtuns and Will Be Established: Mahmood Khan Achakzai

QUETTA: Chairman of the **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP)** and head of the **Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aeen Pakistan**, as well as Member of the National Assembly, **Mahmood Khan Achakzai**, has declared that the formation of a **united national province comprising Pashtun-majority areas** is the legitimate right of the Pashtun people, and it “**will eventually become a reality**.”

Addressing a two-day meeting of PkMAP’s **Southern Pashtunkhwa Provincial Committee**, Achakzai said that nations around the world are fighting **colonial and oppressive powers** for their rights and independence. He warned that nations that failed to protect their sovereignty and resources faced **disastrous consequences**, citing Palestine as an example. He urged Pashtuns to unite in defense of their **land, resources, and national identity**, emphasizing that only a **strong political organization** could safeguard their future.

He paid tribute to the **martyrs of the Pashtun national movement**, calling their sacrifices unforgettable, and said that PkMAP must always stand with the **oppressed and the voiceless**, raising its voice against injustice. Achakzai stressed that party workers should be **honest, disciplined, and trusted representatives** of the people.

Achakzai said that the **political disempowerment** of the Pashtuns has led to their current plight, and demanded that Pashtuns be given **equal representation in all national institutions**. He reiterated that **Pashtuns, Baloch, Sindhis, Saraikis, and Punjabis** are all equal nations inhabiting Pakistan, and the country can only prosper when all are treated as equals.

Referring to Pakistan’s political history, Achakzai said that **Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s** government, despite its flaws, gave the nation a **unanimous constitution** for the first time. However, he lamented that today, parties that chant slogans of “**respect the vote**” are the ones violating the same constitution.

Achakzai criticized the **February 8 elections**, claiming that **Imran Khan** had won but was deprived of victory “through coercion and manipulation.” He condemned the imposition of **Section 144**, the **arrests and torture of political workers**, and the **use of force against democratic movements**, calling the current government **illegitimate and tyrannical**.

The PkMAP chief said that those who **violate or suspend the Constitution** should be **punished under constitutional law**, as no one is above it.

He also condemned the **inhumane treatment of Afghan refugees**, saying that the forced evictions, arrests, confiscation of property, and harassment of Afghan nationals are “**shameful and counterproductive**.” He warned that such actions would only **breed hatred and hostility** between the two nations.

Achakzai proposed that the **United Nations Secretary-General** convene a **regional conference** involving **Afghanistan and its neighboring countries**, under the **UN Security Council’s supervision**, to reach a **binding agreement** ensuring **mutual respect, sovereignty, non-interference, and peaceful coexistence**.

He concluded by saying that **talks of turning Afghanistan into a fifth province of Pakistan** are “**nothing but a fantasy of fools**,” emphasizing that **peace in the region can only be achieved through equality, justice, and mutual respect.**
