Mother of Five Marries TikTok Partner After Seeking Divorce from First Husband

Court grants permission; children left in tears as mother leaves with new husband

LAHORE: A mother of five, Sana, married a man named Abdul Rehman after developing a relationship with him through TikTok. She obtained *khula* (divorce initiated by the wife) from her first husband, Shehbaz, and married her new partner after receiving court permission.

According to court proceedings, Sana stated that she could no longer live with her former husband after securing *khula*, claiming she had fallen in love with Abdul Rehman on TikTok.

Her lawyer, however, argued that she neither obtained the official certificate from the Union Council nor completed the mandatory *iddat* (waiting period) before remarrying, as required by law.

Sana’s ex-husband, Shehbaz, said he was unaware of when the court granted her *khula*. Meanwhile, the couple’s children were left devastated. “How could our mother leave us?” they cried, with the eldest daughter and son reportedly breaking down in tears as their mother departed with her new husband.
