Security Tightened in Rawalpindi Amid TLP’s Planned March Toward Islamabad

RAWALPINDI: Security has been heightened across the city ahead of a possible march by **Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)** toward Islamabad, scheduled for **October 10**.
In anticipation of the march, **containers have been placed at Faizabad Interchange**, a key junction between Islamabad and Rawalpindi, while law enforcement agencies remain on high alert.
Sources said that **hotels along Murree Road near Faizabad have been ordered to vacate**, and although the routes between Islamabad and Rawalpindi remain open for now, authorities may close them depending on the situation.
A meeting chaired by **CPO Khalid Hamdani** reviewed the city’s law and order situation. The CPO emphasized that **no roadblocks or disruptions to traffic will be tolerated**, and **no activity will be allowed to disturb public life**.
He warned that **any violent act under the guise of protest would not be tolerated**, adding that strict action will be taken against those violating the law. “Any attack on public property or law enforcement agencies will be dealt with firmly,” he stated.
