KP Speaker Refuses to Resign Despite Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s Demand

Peshawar: Internal rifts within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have deepened as **Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur** demanded the resignation of **KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati**, who has firmly refused to step down.

According to reports, Chief Minister Gandapur summoned the Speaker to the **CM House** and asked him to tender his resignation. However, **Babar Saleem Swati** flatly refused, stating that the Speaker’s position was given to him by **PTI founder Imran Khan**, and he would only resign if Imran Khan himself directed him to do so.

Sources claim that Gandapur’s latest move comes after reshuffling provincial ministries and removing several ministers — actions that have further exposed growing **power struggles and factionalism within the PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter**.

Babar Saleem Swati has reportedly decided to **seek a direct meeting with Imran Khan** to discuss the situation, signaling that tensions between the provincial leadership and party loyalists may continue to escalate.
