Zardari Tasks Mohsin Naqvi to Defuse Tensions Between Punjab and Sindh Governments

Islamabad: President **Asif Ali Zardari** has stepped in to ease the growing tension between the Punjab and Sindh governments, directing **Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi** to play an active role in resolving the political friction.

According to sources, **Mohsin Naqvi** met President Zardari at **Bilawal House, Karachi**, where both leaders held detailed discussions on the political situation and inter-provincial relations.

During the meeting, President Zardari instructed the interior minister to take concrete steps to reduce the existing political tension and promote coordination between the provinces.

Sources said the discussion also covered **grievances stemming from the Punjab caretaker government’s tenure**, recent **political statements**, and **administrative actions** that contributed to the rift.

Minister Naqvi briefed the president on the **overall law and order situation** in the country and updated him on the **status of communication between provinces**.

President Zardari also advised **PPP leaders to exercise caution in their public statements** amid the current political climate.

Meanwhile, sources confirmed that **Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tomorrow** to discuss **recent remarks made by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz** and the provincial government’s position on the matter.
