Punjab Launches CM Laptop Scheme 2025: Apply Now to Get a Free Modern Laptop

Lahore: The Punjab government has officially launched the **Chief Minister Laptop Scheme 2025**, marking a major step forward in promoting digital education and empowering talented students across the province.

The initiative aims to provide **free, state-of-the-art laptops** to deserving and high-achieving students enrolled in **public sector educational institutions**, enabling them to meet modern digital learning demands and enhance academic performance.

According to the Punjab Higher Education Department, the program’s **online registration portal** has been active since **March 3, 2025**, and applications are currently open. The **distribution of laptops**—a total of **112,000 advanced devices**—will begin on **October 31, 2025**.

### **Eligibility Criteria**

* Applicants must be residents of Punjab with a valid CNIC or B-form.
* Only students enrolled in public sector colleges, universities, or medical institutions are eligible.
* Undergraduate (BS 4-year) students in their **first or second semester** may apply.
* A **minimum of 65% marks** is required for general students, while **medical and dental students** must have at least **80% marks**.
* Students who have previously received a laptop under any government scheme are **not eligible**.

The **application process** is fully digital and transparent. Candidates must fill out an **online form** and upload the necessary educational and identification documents. No manual submissions will be accepted.

In her message at the program’s launch, the **Chief Minister of Punjab** said the scheme will provide young people with the tools needed to excel in a knowledge-based, technology-driven world. She added that the initiative promotes **equal opportunities, digital literacy, and academic self-reliance** among students.

Education experts have hailed the scheme as a **potential foundation for a digital revolution** in Punjab, giving students greater access to **online learning, research tools, and global educational resources**.

Selected students will receive their laptops **in phases starting from October 2025**, ensuring fair and merit-based distribution through an automated selection system focused on performance and capability.
