‘Everything Was Destroyed’: What Happened a Day Before Virat and Anushka’s Wedding — Videographer Reveals Untold Story

Mumbai: Even years after their 2017 wedding in Italy, **Virat Kohli** and **Anushka Sharma’s** fairytale ceremony continues to fascinate fans. However, few know that the dreamy event almost turned into a disaster just a day before the wedding.

In a recent interview, the couple’s wedding videographer **Vishal Punjabi** revealed that **heavy rain destroyed the mandap (wedding canopy)** that had been beautifully prepared for the ceremony. “The entire setup was ruined by torrential rain a night before the wedding, forcing the team to shift the venue at the last minute,” he said.

According to Punjabi, wedding planner **Devika Narain** didn’t sleep that night as she worked tirelessly to rebuild the entire setup at a new location. “Despite the chaos, both Virat and Anushka remained completely calm and composed. They trusted their wedding planner completely,” he added.

Vishal further shared that the couple had **never even seen the original mandap**, and moving everything overnight was a monumental task.

Recalling his experience working with the pair, he said, “When I met them on the wedding day, neither of them knew me or my work, yet they welcomed me warmly and gave me full creative freedom.”

Vishal quoted Virat as saying, *“We don’t know what you do, but if you’re here, you must be good at it.”*

He described the wedding as an **intimate and heartfelt affair**, adding, “They both were incredibly kind and genuine — truly beautiful people inside and out.”
