Jamaat-e-Islami Questions PTI’s Silence on US Condemnation and Hamas Support

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has questioned why Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has not condemned the United States or expressed support for Hamas.
In a statement, JI Deputy Chief Liaquat Baloch said that while the government may be under pressure and constrained in its foreign policy, PTI’s silence on the issue is inexplicable. “The people of Lahore and Karachi have shown exemplary solidarity with the Palestinians, which is commendable,” he said.
Baloch added that the Pakistani nation has completely rejected the so-called “Trump Peace Plan” and reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. “We will fully back the decisions of the Palestinian people and Hamas,” he declared.
Criticizing the government, Baloch said it appears too weak to condemn the United States, and its constraints are evident. “But the question being asked across the nation is why PTI, as an opposition party, remains silent on condemning the US and supporting Hamas,” he added.
Speaking about flood victims, the JI leader emphasized that federal and provincial governments must treat rehabilitation as a national duty. He accused the Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments of political point-scoring while flood victims continue to suffer without adequate assistance.
Baloch also demanded that the people of Punjab, Islamabad, and Quetta be granted local government rights immediately to ensure effective problem-solving at the grassroots level. Addressing student issues, he stressed that restoring student unions is essential to empower and organize the youth.
