Border Closures a “Death Sentence” for 3 Million in Balochistan: NP Leader Dad Mohammad Baloch

Quetta:National Party’s Central Labour Secretary and labour leader Dad Mohammad Baloch has strongly condemned the closure of borders, accusing the current government of being involved in the “economic murder” of more than **3 million people in Balochistan**.

Speaking to various delegations at the party office, he said the situation in the province is rapidly deteriorating, with **unemployment, inflation, and lawlessness** on the rise. He announced that the National Party is in constant contact with those affected by the border shutdown and will soon launch a movement against this “unjust act.”

Dad Mohammad Baloch noted that Balochistan, despite being rich in **natural resources and coastline**, remains neglected in terms of development, education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and infrastructure. He added that nearly **80% of the population depends on agriculture and livestock**, while the rest rely heavily on **border trade and small-scale commerce** due to the absence of industries in the province.

“The rulers have shut down borders with the stroke of a pen, leaving **millions unemployed and families without food**. Poverty and desperation are rising fast, and basic livelihood has been snatched away,” he warned.

The NP leader urged the government to reconsider its decision, ensure **alternative employment opportunities**, and provide essential facilities to the people. He reiterated that the party is closely working with the affected families and will soon begin a province-wide **protest movement** to safeguard their rights.
