Government Committee Leaves for Muzaffarabad to Hold Talks with Protesters in AJK

Islamabad: Following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s notice of the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a high-level government committee has departed for Muzaffarabad to hold negotiations with protesters.
The committee, formed on the Prime Minister’s instructions, aims to seek immediate and long-term solutions to the issues raised by demonstrators. The delegation includes federal ministers and senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders, among them Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Amir Muqam, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Yousaf, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Sardar Masood Ahmed.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the protest action committee to cooperate with the government team. He directed law enforcement agencies to exercise patience and restraint, ensuring respect for public sentiments and avoiding unnecessary force.
Expressing deep concern over recent unpleasant incidents, the Prime Minister ordered transparent investigations and instructed immediate relief to be delivered to affected families.
The committee will send its recommendations and proposed solutions to the Prime Minister’s Office without delay.
