51 Days On, Seven Kidnapped in Balochistan Remain Unrecoverable
Quetta:In Balochistan’s Hernai district, seven individuals abducted from the Shaban area remain missing despite 51 days of efforts by the provincial government and law enforcement agencies.
Shaban’s residents have expressed deep concern over the lack of progress. Shan Raza, a relative of the kidnapped individuals, criticized both the federal and provincial governments for their failure to secure the release of the hostages. Raza appealed to both levels of government to urgently recover the abducted individuals.
Balochistan’s Interior Minister, Mir Zia Lango, acknowledged the sensitivity of the situation, stating that the matter is being handled with utmost caution. He emphasized the government’s desire to not only secure the release of the captives but also to ensure their safety.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind reported that efforts are ongoing to recover the kidnapped individuals, but dismissed rumors of recovered bodies from Shaban as unverified. He assured that the authorities have no official confirmation of the hostages’ deaths and are committed to their safe recovery.
The prolonged failure to recover the kidnapped individuals has raised questions about the effectiveness of the government’s and law enforcement agencies’ claims. The government maintains that it is employing all available political, tribal, and administrative tools to resolve the situation and hopes to achieve a positive outcome soon.
