New Hope for Thalassemia Patients: Saleem Shaheed Thalassemia Center Inaugurated in Quetta

Quetta: A ray of hope has emerged for thalassemia patients and their families in Balochistan with the formal inauguration of the modern *Saleem Shaheed Thalassemia Center* at Alkhidmat Hospital on Brewery Road, established with the support of Umair Sana Foundation.

The center will ensure free and immediate provision of blood for patients suffering from anemia and thalassemia.

During the inauguration ceremony, a delegation from Umair Sana Foundation, led by Dr. Syed Rahat Hussain, visited Alkhidmat Hospital and received a detailed briefing about the newly established thalassemia center and blood bank.

Hospital administration stated that the establishment of this center was made possible through the generous support of the Umair Sana Foundation. Interviews for the recruitment of doctors and nurses have also begun to make the center fully functional at the earliest.

Once fully operational, the center will not only serve patients in Quetta but also provide life-saving support to children and adults from across Balochistan. Equipped with modern facilities and a comprehensive blood bank, the center is expected to fulfill a long-standing community need by providing free and timely blood transfusions to those battling thalassemia.
