Balochistan CM Says Separatist Militants Still Backed by Afghanistan

Quetta:Balochistan Chief Minister **Sarfaraz Bugti** has claimed that separatist militants operating in the province continue to receive support from Afghanistan.

Speaking at a conference organized by the **Supreme Court Bar Association**, the chief minister said that Balochistan remained largely peaceful until 2016, but those released in 2018 later rejoined militant groups.

He stressed that the terrorists have “no roots in Balochistan,” adding that those running campaigns on **missing persons** avoid addressing the actual issue in their speeches. According to him, political actors exploiting the missing persons issue are only benefiting from the province’s backwardness.
