Karachi Call Center Harassment and Firing Incident: Six FIRs Registered, Eight Arrested

Karachi: Police have registered six separate FIRs and arrested eight individuals after a harassment and firing incident at a software house (call center) in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi.
According to reports, the incident took place in Block 6, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where a young woman was allegedly harassed and unlawfully confined inside the office. The first FIR was lodged by the victim’s father, Syed Shoaib Hussain, accusing the branch manager, Daniyal, of harassment, wrongful confinement, threats, and misconduct.
The complainant stated that his daughter had been working as a customer leader at the call center for three years, during which the branch manager repeatedly harassed her and engaged in inappropriate behavior. After the victim informed her family, her cousin called Daniyal to confront him, but the manager allegedly responded with threats.
Later, when the family went to the office to intervene, the staff allegedly locked the girl inside. Upon breaking in, a heated exchange took place during which Daniyal verbally abused them. At that point, an accused named Zulqarnain reportedly opened fire, prompting the victim’s cousin, Muhammad Majid, to fire back in self-defense. Security guards Imran and Raza also discharged their weapons, causing panic.
Police were alerted through helpline 15 and arrived at the scene, arresting eight individuals identified as Muhammad Majid, Zulqarnain, Faizan, Imran Ali, Raza Muhammad, Salman Khan, Syed Salman, and Daniyal Hussain. Firearms were recovered from five of the suspects.
SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal Naeem Rajput confirmed that six FIRs have been registered — one on charges of harassment, confinement, threats, and brawl, while five others were filed under sections of possessing illegal weapons.
Police said further investigation is underway.
