Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Vows Strong Performance Ahead of World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan women’s cricket team captain **Fatima Sana** expressed confidence in her side’s preparations as the squad departs for Sri Lanka to participate in the upcoming **Women’s ODI World Cup**.
Speaking at a pre-departure press conference in Lahore alongside head coach **Mohammad Wasim**, Sana said the team’s focus will be on starting strong to build momentum for the rest of the tournament.
“We will try to treat all matches, including the World Cup games, as normal fixtures without pressure. Our focus is on giving our best performance, regardless of the opposition,” she said.
Head coach Mohammad Wasim added that the squad has undergone extensive training. “We began preparations in Karachi, continued with a camp in Lahore, and also played a three-match series. The team is well-prepared for the World Cup,” he said, expressing hope for strong performances.
The **Women’s World Cup 2025** will be played under a hybrid model from **September 30 to November 2**, with matches hosted in India and Sri Lanka. Due to political tensions, all of Pakistan’s fixtures will be held in **Colombo, Sri Lanka**.
