BC Commandant Agha Muhammad Yousaf Vows Strong Response Against Anti-State Elements

QUETTA: Additional IGP and Commandant Balochistan Constabulary (BC) Agha Muhammad Yousaf has said that anti-state elements are attempting to sabotage peace in Balochistan, but BC personnel are fully committed to protecting people and national interests.
Chairing a high-level meeting at BC Headquarters, he lauded the bravery of BC troops who repelled a recent terrorist attack in Sherani, where over 40 assailants attempted to target security forces. He said the timely and courageous response of BC personnel foiled a major tragedy, safeguarded lives and property, and protected arms and ammunition depots.
He paid tribute to the martyred constable Altaf Hussain, announcing recommendations for **QPM and PPM honors**, along with **cash rewards and certificates** for the team. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs and injured of the Sherani attack.
Agha Muhammad Yousaf emphasized that Balochistan’s economic projects, launched in cooperation with China and other foreign partners, are vital for national development. He warned that hostile elements continuously plan to disrupt these initiatives, stressing that **ensuring the security of foreign workers and economic activities remains a top priority**.
He directed all zonal commanders to conduct **anti-riot and operational courses** to keep personnel fully prepared for challenging situations. He assured that shortages of anti-riot gear would be met promptly.
The Commandant also ordered that no platoon should consist of fewer than 25 personnel, with no exemptions allowed. He further instructed strict monitoring of personnel through a **digital attendance system**, transparent transfers, and regular inspections. Weekly maintenance of weapons and ammunition was made mandatory, while monthly reports must include detailed updates on arms and equipment.
He reiterated that protecting Balochistan’s people, infrastructure, and economic projects against terrorism remains the Constabulary’s foremost mission.
