Islamabad High Court Orders Immediate Removal of PTA Chairman

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered the immediate removal of the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), declaring his appointment legally invalid.
Justice Babar Sattar announced the reserved verdict on Monday, delivering a detailed 99-page judgment. The court accepted the petition challenging the chairman’s appointment and ruled that it was not made in accordance with the law.
The IHC further directed that the senior-most member of the PTA be appointed as acting chairman until a permanent appointment is made.
