KP Government’s Revolutionary Step: Launch of “Ehsaas e-Pension System” Approved

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken a major digital governance initiative by approving the launch of the **Ehsaas e-Pension System** for government employees, which will come into effect from **January 1, 2026**.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has given the green signal for the new system, and the CM Secretariat has prepared a concept paper, directing the Finance Department to implement it. Under the new system, pension payments for all new retirees from January 2026 onwards will be processed digitally through the e-Pension platform, replacing the existing paper-based pension system.
The **Ehsaas Pension Dashboard**, a web-based platform, will ensure a fully paperless workflow. Employees will be able to submit their pension cases six months prior to retirement by filling out a simple digital form and uploading all required documents securely. The system will automatically generate time-bound tasks for relevant officials.
Verification, approvals, sanction orders, retirement orders, pension papers, and pension payment orders will all be generated digitally with secure electronic signatures legally recognized under the new framework. The system will also integrate with NADRA, AG Office, and banks to ensure timely transfer of pensions directly into retirees’ accounts within **2–4 weeks**, compared to the current months-long process.
The dashboard will enable real-time performance monitoring by the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, and Finance Secretary. To make the system sustainable, amendments to relevant laws have been proposed, and a **10-point roadmap** with clear targets and timelines has been prepared. The formal inauguration is scheduled for **January 15, 2026**.
Chief Minister Gandapur said the new online system would eliminate the hassle of visiting offices for pension claims, ensuring transparency, accountability, and ease for government employees. He emphasized that this initiative is part of the provincial government’s commitment to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of a **“Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”**
With this move, KP will become the **first province in Pakistan** to implement a fully digital pension system. So far, the provincial government has digitized **36 different public services**, with more to follow in the coming months.
