Mother Abandons 18-Month-Old Daughter in Canal; Child Protection Bureau Takes Custody

FAISALABAD: A woman abandoned her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter in a canal in Faisalabad and fled the scene, prompting swift action from the Child Protection Bureau (CPB). A case has been registered against her.

Chairperson of the CPB, Sarah Ahmed, confirmed that the Faisalabad team took the child into protective custody on her instructions. The bureau itself lodged the FIR against the mother for leaving the child in an abandoned state.

Sarah Ahmed stated that the child has been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. After recovery, she will be transferred to the Child Protection Bureau in Lahore for proper care and upbringing.
