JUI Leader Mufti Kifayatullah Dies After Being Shot by Son in Malakand

Peshawar: Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and district emir of Malakand, Mufti Kifayatullah, has passed away after succumbing to gunshot wounds inflicted by his son.
According to reports, Mufti Kifayatullah was critically injured a few days ago when his son opened fire, an incident that also claimed the lives of one of his sons and a daughter. His wife and two other children were also severely injured in the attack.
Initially treated in Peshawar, Mufti Kifayatullah was later shifted to a hospital in Islamabad, where he remained under treatment before succumbing to his injuries. His funeral prayers will be offered at 10 p.m. in Zafar Park, Batkhela.
JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed deep grief over the tragic demise, praying for the acceptance of Mufti Kifayatullah’s lifelong religious and political services. “His missionary and organizational contributions will always be remembered. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray that Allah grants them patience,” he said in a statement.
