Flood Alert Issued for Ravi River, Risk of Inundation in Park View Society – Authorities Urge Precaution

Lahore:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a flood alert for the Ravi River, warning of a major flood surge expected between 10 PM and 12 AM tonight — reportedly the largest in the last 38 years. Authorities have identified Park View Society, located along the riverbank, as the most at-risk area.

In response, emergency preparations are underway to reinforce embankments and prevent water from entering residential areas. Videos circulating on social media show police using loudspeakers to warn residents and urge immediate precautions.

One such announcement states: *”By the order of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Lahore, and Assistant Commissioner Allama Iqbal Town, all residents of Park View are informed that there is a flood risk in the Ravi River over the next 48 hours. Please take necessary measures to protect your lives, property, and livestock. Thank you.”*

Residents have been strongly advised to stay alert and cooperate with authorities during this critical period.
