Targeted Operations Continue in Balochistan; Scope of Investigation Expanded After Key Arrest: Govt Spokesperson

Quetta:The spokesperson for the Balochistan government, **Shahid Rind**, announced that following a **key arrest in Quetta**, the scope of the ongoing investigation has been significantly expanded. Acting on **credible intelligence regarding suspected target killers**, security forces conducted raids at multiple locations, detaining several individuals for questioning.
During one of the operations, **advocate Zameer** was also taken into custody alongside other suspects. However, Shahid Rind clarified that **Zameer was released after preliminary investigation**, as no evidence of wrongdoing was found against him.
The spokesperson stressed that **security operations are ongoing across the province**, especially in **“grey areas”**—zones where distinguishing between friend and foe is particularly challenging. “We’ve already clarified that these operations are conducted with precision, but the complexities of such areas make the process difficult,” he said.
Shahid Rind emphasized that **ensuring lasting peace in Balochistan requires collective efforts**, and that **public cooperation is essential** in supporting the work of law enforcement agencies.
He reassured the public that **no innocent individual will be wrongfully treated**, and that **questioning and investigation are standard parts of legal procedure**. The spokesperson reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, stating, *“The Government of Balochistan will continue its efforts to make the province secure and peaceful for all citizens.”*
