Fuel Prices Likely to Change from August 16 Amid Global Oil Price Drop

Islamabad:In light of declining oil prices in the international market, the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are expected to be revised for the next 15 days starting **August 16, 2025**.
According to sources, a **decrease of Rs 11.75 per litre** in the price of **High-Speed Diesel (HSD)** is anticipated. If approved, the new price of HSD could fall from **Rs 282.83 to Rs 274.08 per litre**.
Meanwhile, **petrol prices are likely to increase by Rs 1.32 per litre**.
Other expected changes include:
* **Kerosene oil**: decrease of **Rs 6.25 per litre**
* **Light Diesel Oil (LDO)**: decrease of **Rs 7.11 per litre**
The expected changes follow a significant dip in global crude oil futures, which have dropped to **\$62.7 per barrel**, the lowest level in two months. The drop is attributed to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) forecast of a surplus in global oil supply this year and next.
Final prices will be announced after government approval in consultation with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
