Rana Sanaullah Appeals to PTI to Withdraw Protest Call on August 14

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s advisor Rana Sanaullah has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to reconsider its call for a protest on Independence Day, August 14, 2025.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Geo News, Rana Sanaullah emphasized that August 14 should be celebrated as a victory for the cause of truth. He suggested that PTI reschedule its protest to either a day before or after Independence Day to avoid disrupting the national celebrations.
Sanaullah further clarified that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif opposes any extension to his tenure and that the 27th amendment is still under discussion. However, he stressed that making constitutional amendments is within the jurisdiction of Parliament.
It is important to note that on August 6, a message from PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official account called for a nationwide protest against the ongoing fascism in the country. This message followed PTI’s unsuccessful protest on August 5, which had failed to garner the anticipated public support.
