Good News for Pakistanis: NADRA Makes Inheritance Certificate Process Easier

Karachi: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made the process of obtaining inheritance certificates significantly easier, simplifying the process of claiming inheritance rights for citizens.
According to a new announcement released on Tuesday, legal heirs can now submit their applications for inheritance certificates at any of the 186 Succession Certificate Units (SFUs) across Pakistan, regardless of which province or region the inherited property is located in. These units are available in NADRA centers in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Easier Biometric Process
NADRA has also simplified the biometric verification process. Legal heirs can now complete their biometric verification either at their nearest NADRA center or remotely through the ‘Pak ID Mobile App’ from the comfort of their homes.
Previous System Issues
Previously, applicants were required to apply for an inheritance certificate in the province where the property was located. This created challenges for heirs living in different provinces, who had to travel and face legal complexities.
Although NADRA had already introduced the mobile biometric facility, the application process was still restricted by provincial boundaries.

With the new changes, this provincial restriction has been completely lifted. Now, citizens can apply and complete the entire process from anywhere in Pakistan.
According to NADRA’s spokesperson, all NADRA centers have been officially instructed to ensure that citizens can avail this facility from their nearest SFU.
This move by NADRA is being hailed as a revolutionary change in the inheritance certificate system, benefiting citizens across the country directly.
