FC Soldier Azhar Mahmood to Receive Hilal-e-Shujaat for Sacrifice in Line of Duty

Islamabad:In a historic move, Federal Constabulary (FC) soldier Azhar Mahmood will be awarded the prestigious Hilal-e-Shujaat for sacrificing his life in defense of the motherland. This will be the first time in the country’s history that an FC soldier will receive the country’s second-highest civil award, Hilal-e-Shujaat, for his bravery.
President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the award of Hilal-e-Shujaat to Azhar Mahmood, along with 24 other lower-ranking soldiers, in recognition of their immense sacrifices for the country. These brave men will be honored for their courage and dedication, marking a significant moment for the Federal Constabulary.
Azhar Mahmood, a 20-year-old from Chitral, made the ultimate sacrifice on March 4, when he courageously thwarted a suicide bomber attack in Bannu Cantt. The attackers targeted him with a rocket launcher, resulting in his martyrdom. His act of bravery not only saved countless lives but also earned him the nation’s highest military honor.
In addition to Azhar Mahmood, the President has also approved the award of *Sitara-e-Shujaat* to 19 other martyrs, who displayed extraordinary courage in the face of danger. Five injured soldiers will be awarded the *Tamgha-e-Shujaat* for their valor.
The martyrs who will be receiving the *Sitara-e-Shujaat* include:

* Soldier Aziz Khan
* Soldier Khattab-ur-Rehman
* Soldier Gul Omarzai
* Naib Subedar Muhammad Jan
* Lance Naik Saeed-ur-Rehman
* Soldier Hazratullah
* Soldier Khanzada
* NCO Muhammad Arif
* Soldier Imran Khan
* Soldier Basirullah
* Soldier Mahtab-ur-Rehman
* Soldier Sher Khan
* Soldier Saeed Amin
* Soldier Fazal Karim
* Soldier Muhammad Yousaf
Additionally, *Tamgha-e-Shujaat* will be awarded to five wounded soldiers:
* Soldier Arif Ali
* Soldier Bassetullah
* Naib Subedar Sidanullah
* Lance Naik Khanan
* Soldier Laaj Meer
FC Commandant Riaz Nazir Gaada confirmed that the names of these brave soldiers have been approved by the President. The awards will be officially announced on August 14, providing a significant morale boost to the FC troops.
This recognition serves as a testament to the extraordinary sacrifices made by the men of the Federal Constabulary in their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country and its citizens.
