PTI’s Mishal Yousafzai Wins Senate Election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Mishal Yousafzai has won the Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, securing 86 votes.
Opposition joint candidate Mehtab Zafar received 53 votes, while independent candidate Saima Khalid managed to secure only one vote. Two votes were rejected during the counting process.
Following her victory, Mishal Yousafzai expressed gratitude in a media talk, stating that PTI’s founder trusted her, and she has now become the youngest Senator in the country. She thanked Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his strong support, as well as Barrister Gohar, party leaders, and workers.
Yousafzai added that three of PTI’s votes were rejected and one MPA was ill, emphasizing that none of PTI’s votes went to any other candidate. “This is not a vote for Mishal, but for Imran Khan’s ideology and vision,” she said.
When asked by journalists about PTI’s legal challenges, Chief Minister Gandapur left the assembly premises without commenting, stating that the vote count was still underway.
