British High Commissioner Meets Asifa Bhutto in Karachi to Discuss Education, Health, and Women’s Empowerment

Karachi: Member of the National Assembly and First Lady Asifa Bhutto Zardari held a high-level meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at Bilawal House in Karachi. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional and global developments, and various aspects of social development.
Special attention was given to sectors such as education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and youth development. Both sides expressed commitment to further strengthening the long-standing relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
Asifa Bhutto Zardari also praised the stance of the British Prime Minister on the situation in Gaza, calling it commendable. She emphasized the urgent need for global peace and called on the international community to raise a stronger voice in support of the oppressed.
The meeting was also attended by British Deputy High Commissioner Lance Domb and the High Commission’s Political Adviser Huda Ikram. From the Pakistani side, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, MNA Shazia Marri, and MPA Qasim Soomro participated in the discussion.
Asifa Bhutto Zardari briefed the guests on the social development initiatives of the Sindh government, reaffirming the Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to accelerating its efforts in public service.
