Sindh Government Sets Minimum Monthly Wage at Rs. 40,000; Notification Issued

Karachi: The Sindh government has officially issued a notification setting the minimum monthly wage for workers across all industrial and commercial establishments in the province at Rs. 40,000, effective from July 1, 2025.
Sindh Minister for Labor, Shahid Theem, announced that the monthly wage for semi-skilled workers has been set at Rs. 41,380, skilled workers at Rs. 49,628, and highly skilled workers at Rs. 51,745.
The new wage structure will apply uniformly to all registered and unregistered industrial and commercial establishments. Both male and female workers will receive equal pay for equal work. Additionally, establishments that pay workers on an hourly basis must ensure a minimum payment of Rs. 192 per hour.
Minister Theem further stated that the Sindh government is committed to pro-labor policies and is taking practical steps to ensure the welfare of workers, fair wages, and a better working environment. The increase in the minimum wage is aimed at alleviating the impact of rising inflation and providing workers with a dignified standard of living.
The Department of Labor is in continuous communication with industrialists and will strictly enforce labor laws.
