Viral Video Shows Doctor Ignoring Patient at Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic, Sargodha
Sargodha: A video from Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic in Kalra Estate, Tehsil Shahpur, District Sargodha, has sparked outrage after it showed a doctor neglecting a patient while engrossed in his mobile phone. The footage, shared widely on social media, highlights yet another case of alleged misconduct by public healthcare staff in Pakistan.
In the video, the doctor is seen sitting with his legs crossed on another chair, fully engaged with his mobile phone, while a visibly distressed woman sits silently in front of him, waiting for attention.
Journalist Malik Fazal, who shared the video online, claimed that such scenes have become all too common in public sector clinics. He criticized the doctor’s behavior, stating:
“At Marium Nawaz Health Clinic in Kalra Estate, the doctor is busy with his phone instead of attending to patients. The woman sitting in front of him reflects utter helplessness, while healthcare services seem limited to TikTok and press releases.”
The video has triggered strong reactions from the public, with many calling for disciplinary action and a review of performance and professionalism at public health facilities in the region. Authorities have yet to issue an official response.
