Flash Flood Warning Issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tourist Areas

Peshawar:The Tourism Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a travel advisory for tourists, warning of potential flash floods in the region from July 21 to July 29.

According to the department, tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to check weather conditions before heading to popular tourist destinations. Travelers are urged to call the helpline at 1422 for updates and safety information.

Secretary of Tourism Dr. Abdul Samad stressed that tourists should avoid traveling to high-risk areas, including riverbanks. He also cautioned against unnecessary excursions to dangerous locations. In a recent incident, more than 500 tourists were rescued by the Kaghan Development Authority after a cloudburst triggered a landslide, blocking the road to Lake Saif-ul-Malook.

The department continues to monitor the situation closely, and tourists are urged to remain vigilant and prioritize safety during their visits.
